Surgeries or Anesthesia

Surgeries are by appointment only Monday – Friday. Please be sure to call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Any time your pet requires surgery or anesthesia it is an anxious time. Rest assured that we at Foothills Veterinary Hospital recognize this and employ a variety of methods to reduce the risks associated with surgery and anesthesia.

We recommend pre-anesthetic blood work on all surgeries and require it in certain cases, and use the safest available anesthetic drugs and gas anesthesia. We are deeply committed to minimizing pain and discomfort before, during and after the procedure.

Surgical procedures commonly performed at Foothills:

  • Routine spay and neuter
  • Fracture repair
  • Bladder stone removal
  • Tumor removals
  • Tibial Tuberosity Advancement for ACL repair in dogs
  • Feline declaws
  • Eye enucleation
  • Limb amputation
  • Hernia repair
  • Dental extraction
  • Cesarean section
  • Femoral Head Osteotomy
  • Puppy tail docks

We also monitor vital signs including blood oxygenation, heart rate, temperature and blood pressure throughout the procedure. Your pet will be continuously monitored after the procedure until it is ready to be returned to recovery to rest before going home.
